You know Thomas Edison (and his team) invented the light bulb. But did you know he and his assistants tested over 6000 natural plant materials, but ultimately used a carbonized bamboo filament in his first experiment with the light bulb?
Bamboo is a durable, versatile natural resource, so it is no wonder that M.L. McCauley of Mtech Services sent in Carbonized Bamboo Fiber to ASPEX Corporation for image analysis using our Scanning Electron Microscopes.

The ASPEX PSEM eXplorer was used to perform the SEM analysis of the bamboo sample, and reports were prepared using ASPEX Personal Image Print II (PIPTM).
Secondary electron detector (SED) images were collected under High Vacuum conditions and 20.0 KeV beam energy.
